The "Alacalufes Route" is a special cruise made by Skorpios to take the ship from Puerto Montt to Puerto Natales and back after the season. Therefore, the next trip southwards is on October 11h, 2017. On this cruise you will visit the glaciers Témpano, Pío XI, Amalia and El Brujo -part of Southern Patagonian Ice Field-, sailing through fjords and channels, visit remotes fishing villages such as Puerto Aguirre and Puerto Eden, and enjoy hotsprings at Termas de Quitralco.
The journey back from Puerto Natales to Puerto Montt will take place in April 2018.

Itinerary

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 11, 2017
12:00 hours. Set sail from Puerto Montt, through Tenglo Channel, Llanquihue Archipelago, sight of Calbuco village and crossing of Ancud Gulf. 17:00 hrs. Navigation Chiloé Archipelago, Mechuque, Chauques, Caguache, Tranqui islands. Crossing of Corcovado Gulf.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 12, 2017
07:00 hours. Sailing through Moraleda Channel. 08:30 hours. Arrival to Puerto Aguirre
Village in the Guaitecas Archipelago, visit to this picturesque fishermen village. 10:30
hours. Sailing through Ferronave, Pilcomayo, Paso Casma and Canal Costa channels,
arriving at Quitralco Fjord at 15:00 hours. Disembarkation to enjoy this nature’s
sanctuary. Hotspring thermal baths, hikes, boat trips will be part of our activities. 20:30 hours. Dinner in Skorpios “fogón”, with a lamb barbecue Patagonia style. 24:00 hours. Sailing from this location south, through Quitralco Fjord, and Tres Cruces pass.

FRIDAY OCTOBER 13, 2017
Navigating Pulluche Channel, Ana Pink bay. At dawn start crossing of Penas Gulf. 20:00 hours. End of the crossing, sailing through Messier Channel.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 14, 2017
08:00 hours. Entry to the Iceberg Fjord and later, arrival to Témpano Glacier, panoramic view of this location. Possible disembarkation, depending on the weather. 11:00 hours. Sailing south, Messier Channel, Angostura Inglesa crossing, arrival to Puerto Edén at 16:00 hours. Disembarkation at this fishermen village, craddle of the Kaweskar Alacalufe’s ethnic group. Walks through its streets made of wooden footbridges and its patagonic surroundings. 18:00 hours. Set sail toward Pío XI Glacier, navigating through Paso del Indio and Grappler Channel. Anchor and overnight in Pío XI bay.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 15, 2017
08:00 hours. Visit to Pío XI Glacier, the biggest glacier of the Southern Hemisphere.
11:00 hours. Sailing south through Eyre Fjord, Wide, Concepción, Paso Tres Cerros and Pitt Channels. 24:00 hours. Arrival at Amalia Fjord.

MONDAY OCTOBER 16, 2017
08:00 hours. Navigation in front of Amalia Glacier, disembarkation in this peninsula to
watch the rocks that have been pollished by the glacier, its flora and its surroundings of a taller hights. 12:00 hours. Sailing south through the Asia Fjord. 14:30 hours. Arrival at El Brujo Glacier, disembarkation on exploration boats, toward magma rocks to admire this ice colossus and its tall towers of ice. 16:30 hours. Navigating to Puerto Natales, through Sarmiento and Union channels.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 17, 2017
Angostura Kirke or White crossing, Almirante Montt Gulf, arriving at Puerto Natales at
10:00 hours. Breakfast and passengers disembarkation. End of our cruise.

This route is made by the vessel Skorpios III which has a top capacity of 110 passengers. It has wide decks, bars, lounges and dining rooms where you can share a nice time with other fellow travelers. It has 49 fully equiped cabins with low beds, luxury and wide bathrooms, fridge, music, internal phone, TV and safety boxes. The cabins are located in five different decks, with prices depending in the kind of accommodation and where they are within the boat. All cabins have windows, but the ones in the Atenas deck.
