Detailed
description of the boat and cabins
The
Evangelistas is a freigth and passenger ferry-boat that was
built in Japan and refurbished in Chile in the year 2000.
After sailing during several years as "Magallanes",
in 2007 Navimag decided to rename the ship into "Evangelistas".
There is no connection with the ferry of the same name Navimag
was using in the '80s.
Its length is 123 metres and its breadth is 21 metres. Its
has 61 cabins for 2 or 4 passengers and 42 berths dormitory
style. The vessel offers roomy areas for enjoying the voyage,
such as exterior passageways, deck, upper terrace, pub and
restaurant.
The ferry Evangelistas has seven differente kind of accommodation.
You can choose the one you prefer among these options:
- Cabin AAA: 2 berths with private bathroom
and window
- Cabin AA : 4 berths with private bathroom
and window
- Cabin A : 4 berths with private bathroom
outside the cabin, without window
- Cabin BBB: 2 berths with private bathroom
outside the cabin and window
- Cabin BB : 4 berths with shared bathroom
outside and window
- Cabin CC : 4 berths with shared bathroom
outside, without window
- Berths Category C: dormitory with 22 berths,
with shared bathroom outside

Since the passengers asked more for the cabins rather
than the C berths, in 2009 Navimag rebuilt five from
the former dormitories. They put new doors to provide
more privacy to the passengers. According to these changes,
there are the new accommodations BBB, BB and CC:

window
- Cabin BB : 4 berths with shared bathroom outside and
window
- Cabin CC : 4 berths with shared bathroom outside,
