It
is the fastest option to visit the Laguna San Rafael. The
modern touristic catamaran is twice as fast as other crafts.
It stays less time in front of the glacier, but offers the
possibility to see with daylight the fjords and channels
between Puerto Chacabuco and the Laguna San Rafael.
The same enterprise owns the Hotel Loberías del Sur
in Puerto Chacabuco and the Ecotouristic Reservation Park
Aiken del Sur, thereafter there are some packages for 3,
4 or 5 days.
Important: The enterprise tries to sell
first the packages, and only one week before the departure
date it is possible to buy the day excursion alone (without
accommodation) if there is still availability. If you want
to secure your reservation with time, it is necessary to
spend at least one night at the Hotel Loberías del
Sur. Ask for details about this alternative and other special
programs.

| Itinerary |
The
check-in is at 07:30 at the Terminal Naviero of Puerto Chacabuco.
The catamaran leaves at 08:00 and takes the passengers along
islands, channels and fjords until finally arriving to the
amazing Laguna San Rafael around two in the afternoon. If
the weather conditions allow it, the passengers are taken
in zodiac boats to get a closer look at the San Rafael Glacier
and its many icebergs that float scattered in the lagoon.
At the end of the excursion, a delicious whisky is served
with millenary ice over 20.000 years old. The visit to the
lagoon itself lasts between 2 to 3 hours, and afterwards starts
the trip back to Puerto Chacabuco, ending the excursion around
9 PM.

are regular departures between October and March, once weekly,
usually on Saturdays. In high season there are up to three
departures per week.

the nature from their climatised interiors, comfortable bars
or from their exterior decks.
