Cruceros Australis offers the alternative to sail in a luxury cruiser through the Magellan Strait and the Beagle Channel, exploring one of the most beautiful and pristine regions of the Southern edge of the Americas; reaching Cape Horn, the last piece of continental ground and meeting point of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. The journey goes through channels, bays and fjords, disembarking in different points and visiting glaciers between Punta Arenas in Chile and the Argentinian city of Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego.
 

 

Itinerary

From Punta Arenas to Ushuaia the trip lasts 5 days (4 nights), and the trip back to Punta Arenas takes only 4 days and three nights. Both routes pass through the Cape Horn and include visits to the glaciers and penguins, and wildlife sightings.

Dates

The boats sail from September to April; the departures from Punta Arenas are on Saturdays and Tuesdays, from Ushuaia on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are no trips during the winter.
There is a strong demand for this trip and they are often fully booked months before.

Boats

The enterprise owns two modern ships -Via Australis and Stella Australis-, both quite similar, with a capacity of 136 and 210 passengers. They are provided with advanced technology in navegation and safety, and high class facilities. The passengers can enjoy the view from wide decks, there is an infirmary, store, games hall and a small library. The activities on board are held in two comfortable lounges -Yamana and Sky- and in the dining room Patagonia.
The new ship Stella Australis offers in addition 4 superior cabins of a bigger size and a gym.

Cabins
Both expedition cruisers have large cabins distributed in four categories, all of them with low beds, panoramic windows, private bathroom, heating, closet and safety boxes. The difference in the price lays mainly in the location of the cabins within the boats.
The new Stella Australis offers in addition 4 superior cabins with a size of 20,5 m2 aproximately.
Rates

Rates in US-Dollars
The prices are per person in a double cabin. The price includes full board, open bar and all activities and excursions in the program.
Important: There is an extra charge of US$ 30 for embarking taxes and national park entrance fee.
